Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Toronto Eats collects through this website, why we collect it, where it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

We collect personal information only when you send it to us. On this site that means the quote request form, which asks for:

  • Your name and email address — required, so we can reply.
  • Your phone number and company — optional.
  • Details about your event — type, date, guest count, venue, and anything you write in the message field.
  • The page you submitted from, and the referring page if there is one.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not build profiles of visitors. If that changes, this policy will change first.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and — if you book — deliver the event. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell it or share it for marketing.

Where it is stored

Quote submissions are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, in Google’s northamerica-northeast2 (Toronto) region. Notification emails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service in the ca-central-1 (Montréal) region. Both Google and Amazon act as service providers processing information on our behalf, and email in transit may pass through infrastructure outside Canada.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are retained while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards for business records. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Email us@torontoeats.catering and we will respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Submissions are transmitted encrypted and stored in access-controlled systems that are not readable from the public web.
